World aluminum production rises by 2.9% in 2024 to 72.76 mln tons

Russia and Eastern European countries increased their aluminum production in 2024 by 3.76% to 4.17 mln tons, North American countries - by 2.23% to 3.98 mln tons

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. World primary aluminum production in 2024 will increase by 2.9% year-on-year to 72.76 mln tons, according to preliminary data from the International Aluminum Institute (IAI).

According to the report, China increased its aluminum production by 4.1% to 43.38 mln tons, the Persian Gulf countries - by 0.64% to 6.26 mln tons, and Asian countries (excluding China) - by 3% to 4.81 mln tons.

Russia and Eastern European countries increased their aluminum production in 2024 by 3.76% to 4.17 mln tons, North American countries - by 2.23% to 3.98 mln tons, and Western and Central European countries - by 4.24% to 2.83 mln tons.

The International Aluminum Institute (IAI) is an association of the world's aluminum producers. It includes the world's largest aluminum producing companies, accounting for more than 60% of the world's primary aluminum output.
