MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani discussed the terms of oil production and supplies to the world market, including under the OPEC+ agreement, the Russian government reported after the meeting in Baghdad.
"The conditions of crude oil production and supplies to the world market, including within the framework of the OPEC+ agreement, were discussed. The parties stressed the importance of maintaining stability, balance, and fair prices and also noted the leading role of the OPEC+ group in achieving these goals," the statement said.
Novak also confirmed Russia's intention to build mutually beneficial relations with Iraq based on common interests.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of energy cooperation, peaceful nuclear energy, investment, interaction in the field of artificial intelligence and digital tools, developing cooperation in industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and transport.
Earlier, Novak held a trilateral meeting with Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud and Iraqi Energy Minister Ziad Ali Fadhel. They discussed the situation on the oil market, the OPEC+ agreement and compensation for excess oil production.
Novak's visit to Baghdad came ahead of a meeting of OPEC+ members scheduled for December 1 to decide on the parameters of the deal.
