Sales of Russian wines in 2023 rise by around 20% to 786 mln liters

In particular, 216 mln liters of sparkling wine and 564 mln liters of still wine were sold

MOSCOW, April 15. /TASS/. Sales of Russian wines rose by around 20% in 2023 year-on-year reaching 786 mln liters, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Viktor Evtukhov said.

"Demand and sales of wines have increased over the recent years since the adoption of a special federal law, thanks to industry support measures such as its promotion. The Russian wine market amounted to 786 mln liters in 2023, excluding catering, which is approximately 20% more than in 2022," Evtukhov was quoted by the press service of the Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo).

In particular, 216 mln liters of sparkling wine and 564 mln liters of still wine were sold. According to Russian Quality System (Roskachestvo), Russian wines account for more than 85% of overall sales in the price range of up to 500 rubles.
