UniCredit posts rise in net profit to 1.7 bln euros for Q3 2022

It is reported that Q1 2022 net profit of UniCredit Group (excluding Russia) totaled 1.2 bln euros, up by 48% year-on-year

MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Net profit of the Italian bank UniCredit (including Russia) in Q3 2022 amounted to 1.7 bln euros compared to 1.5 bln euros in Q2, the banking group reported on Wednesday.

That said, net profit (excluding Russia) totaled 1.3 bln euros in Q3, down by 9.9% quarter-on-quarter and up by 31.1% year-on-year. The Russian business of the Italian group remained profitable for the second consecutive quarter, according to the report.

UniCredit posted loss worth 915 mln euros in Russia for Q1 2022 compared with 44 mln euro profit in the same period last year. Meanwhile, the group booked 1.2 bln euros loss provisions for the reporting period, whereas in Q1 2021 loss provisions equaled 19 mln euros.

Q1 2022 net profit of UniCredit Group (excluding Russia) totaled 1.2 bln euros, up by 48% year-on-year.

Chief Executive Officer of UniCredit Andrea Orcel said in the middle of March that the credit organization was considering suspension of activities in Russia due to increased risks.
