Baikal Electronics eyes relocation to another plant — CEO

The work on new projects continues in line with the schedule and no current and new projects are frozen

MOSCOW, June 16. /TASS/. Baikal Electronics is considering an option of relocating to another plant in view of difficulties with production in Taiwan, CEO Andrey Evdokimov told TASS.

Kommersant newspaper reported earlier, citing sources in the IT sector, that Baikal Electronics canceled production of Baikal-S server processors due to problems with placing production orders in Taiwan. Taiwan-based TSMC refused to make new contracts with Baikal Electronics.

"Although sanctions made their adjustments in implementation of our product strategy, we endeavor at present to solve the issue of organizing production. We are considering all options, including relocation to another plant either overseas or inside the country," the top manager said.

The work on new projects continues in line with the schedule and no current and new projects are frozen, Evdokimov added.
