Sputnik V is the first foreign vaccine delivered to Iran

TEHRAN, February 4. /TASS/. A Mahan Air flight carrying the first batch of Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine has arrived in the Iranian capital of Tehran, Iran’s IRIB broadcaster reported on Thursday.

According to the media outlet, the plane landed at Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport. Sputnik V is the first foreign vaccine delivered to Iran.

On Tuesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani announced that a mass vaccination campaign involving foreign vaccines would begin by February 18. Iran will use Russian, Chinese and Indian vaccines in the first stage of inoculation. There are plans to start using a domestically made vaccine in April.
