Kremlin attributes surge in military enlistments to national unity

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the number of people enlisting for military service under contract has gone up significantly in Moscow and other Russian cities

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. The rising number of people willing to sign a contract to serve in the Russian Armed Forces speaks to the people’s increased support for the special military operation, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"This is more evidence of the high degree of internal mobilization of our society, its consolidation around President [Vladimir] Putin and around the goals that have been set for the special military operation," he said as he commented on the rising number of people signing up for military service.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the number of people enlisting for military service under contract has gone up significantly in Moscow and other Russian cities. More than 100,000 people have signed military contracts since the beginning of this year, it said.
