Geneva discussions on security in South Caucasus resumed after 6-month break

"We exchanged views on the necessity of the continuation of the Geneva process and the return to the regular rounds of discussions as an important factor of stability and security in the region," the South Ossetian foreign ministry said on Tuesday

TSKHINVAL, April 4. /TASS/. The 57th round of international discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus kicked off in Geneva on Tuesday after a six-month break.

The previous round of discussions was held in October 2022.

"On April 4, the 57th two-day round of discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus began in Geneva. On the first day, the South Ossetian delegations met with the co-chairs and moderators of the 1st and 2nd working groups to discuss key issues on the agenda of the main day of discussions. We exchanged views on the necessity of the continuation of the Geneva process and the return to the regular rounds of discussions as an important factor of stability and security in the region," the South Ossetian foreign ministry said on Tuesday.
