MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Kiev's involvement in the terrorist attack in a cafe in St. Petersburg, where war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky was killed in an explosion, will be yet another testament to Ukraine's terrorist ways, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in a commentary circulated on Monday.

"Russian investigative agencies are investigating this crime. We are confident that those behind it will be punished. The involvement of the Kiev regime in this bloody action will be another confirmation of its use of terrorist methods," the diplomat said.

Zakharova also called on other states and international organizations, which "advocate the safety of journalists and bloggers," to give a fundamental assessment of "this blatant terrorist attack."

The diplomat stressed that "all those responsible will be punished."

The cafe bombing occurred on April 2 during a meeting being held by military correspondent Maxim Fomin, known under the pen-name Vladlen Tatarsky. He died instantly. More than 30 people were injured. The blast’s yield is estimated at 200 grams of TNT. The criminal case has been transferred to the central office of the Investigative Committee.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee said that the terrorist act against Tatarsky had been masterminded by Ukraine’s special services with help from agents collaborating with Alexey Navalny’s anti-corruption foundation (recognized as an extremist organization in Russia). Trepova is a supporter of the foundation.
