Aleppo airport out of service due to Israeli attack — SANA

BEIRUT, March 7. /TASS/. Israel’s armed forces delivered an air strike on Aleppo International Airport last night, putting it out of service, SANA news agency reported, citing a military official from the Arab republic.

"At 2:07 a.m. (coincides with Moscow time - TASS) on Tuesday, the Israeli enemy carried out an aerial act of aggression from the direction of the Mediterranean <…>, targeting Aleppo International Airport," SANA quoted the official as saying in a statement. As a result of the attack, which caused material damage, the airport went out of service, he added.

The ministry also said it was currently assessing the damage done to Aleppo airport.

On the night of February 19, four Israeli F-16 fighter jets delivered missile strikes on Damascus from the Golan Heights. Oleg Gurinov, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria (a division of the Russian Defense Ministry), said the strikes destroyed the buildings of the Technical Institute of Applied Arts and the center of culture in the Kaft Sousa neighborhood southwest of Damascus. According to the Al Hadath TV channel, the death toll from the Israeli strikes was 15, including seven Syrian servicemen.
