MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. The latest version of the chemical reconnaissance vehicle RKhM-9 based on the Taifun-K chassis will be provided for the Russian army in 2022, the Defense Ministry said on Friday on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Marshal Timoshenko Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Academy.
"Kostroma’s residents and guests were able to see samples of current and future weapons and military hardware of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force, including the newest reconnaissance vehicle RKhM-9. This version based on the chassis of the Taifun-K vehicle is the most advanced in its class. It will begin to be provided for the armed forces this year," the news release says.
According to the press-service, the chief of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Force, Igor Kirillov, conferred upon the academy The Kutuzov Order. The Academy has held an Open Day - a series of professional guidance and promotion events - for its visitors and guests.
Kirillov said the Academy’s curriculum was based on experience obtained during real combat operations.
