Russian fighters, bombers practice pinpoint strikes in Baltic drills

The pilots conducted bombing runs at altitudes ranging from 200 meters to 2 km, using practice air bombs

KALININGRAD, April 14. /TASS/. Russian bombers and fighters practiced delivering pinpoint surgical strikes in drills in the Baltic region, the Baltic Fleet’s press office reported on Thursday.

The drills involved over 10 crews of Su-24M and Su-27 aircraft of the Baltic Fleet’s naval aviation, it specified.

"During the flights, the crews of Su-24M bombers operating under the cover of Su-27 fighters delivered precision bombing strikes against command posts, railways and bridges, and also eliminated a notional enemy’s manpower and combat hardware at the aviation training ground in the Kaliningrad Region," the press office said in a statement.

The pilots conducted bombing runs at altitudes ranging from 200 meters to 2 km, using practice air bombs, it specified.

The sites for pinpoint bomb strikes were designated by full-size targets that simulated enemy command posts, railway junctions, manpower and combat hardware, the press office said.

"The pilots’ practical operations were registered by data recorders mounted on combat aircraft and also on the ground in the area of combat employment. The analysis of the data received showed that all the designated targets were wiped out," the press office said.
