MOSCOW, May 2. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have shelled the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) 27 times over the past 24 hours, a source in the DPR Defense Ministry has told Donetsk News Agency.

"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military shelled the republic’s territory 27 times as a result of nine ceasefire violations," the ministry said.
According to the Defense Ministry, the Ukrainian side fired 18 82-mm and 120-mm mortar projectiles. It also used grenade launchers and small arms.
The most intensive fire fell on the settlements of Zaitsevo, Shirokaya Balka and the area of 6/7 mine near Gorlovka, the villages of Zhabichevo, Elenovka, the airport area and the suburbs of Donetsk.
The ministry added that all the data on violations of the Minsk agreements had been handed over to representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission and the Joint Center for Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC).
On the occasion of the Orthodox Easter, members of the Contact Group on Ukraine agreed on a ceasefire as of midnight on April 30.
