Almost 600 Palestinians killed in Gaza in past 72 hours — Al Jazeera

The death toll continues to rise as Israeli air attacks and ground assaults intensify

DUBAI, March 21. /TASS/. Almost 600 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip in the past 72 hours since Israel violated the ceasefire, the Qatari Al Jazeera TV channel reported, citing the Gaza Media Office.

The death toll continues to rise as Israeli air attacks and ground assaults intensify. Amid renewed bombing, the Israeli military launched a ground invasion in the southern city of Rafah, while a second ground offensive was launched on the city of Beit Lahia in the north of the Palestinian enclave, the TV channel notes.

On March 18, the Israeli army launched massive attacks on the enclave. The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained that the radical Palestinian movement Hamas had rejected the proposals put forward at the talks by the mediators and the special envoy of US President Steven Witkoff, saying that the goal of the operation in Gaza was the release of all hostages. The radicals blamed Israel and the United States for the resumption of hostilities.
