Two hostages freed in Gaza arrive in Israel

Four more hostages are to be handed over to the Israeli side in the coming hours

TEL AVIV, February 22. /TASS/. Two Israelis who were released in the Gaza Strip by Palestinian radicals from the Hamas movement have arrived on the territory of Israel accompanied by servicemen, the army press service reported.

"A short while ago, accompanied by IDF and ISA forces, the two returning hostages crossed the border into Israeli territory, and they are currently on their way to an initial reception point in southern Israel, where they will be reunited with members of their families," the statement said.

A total of six hostages are to be released during the day. Tal Shoham, who was kidnapped during the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by the radical Palestinian movement Hamas, and Avera Mengistu, who has been in Gaza since 2014, were the first to be released, the Kan state broadcaster reported.

Four more hostages are to be handed over to the Israeli side in the coming hours.
