Oreshnik to make dialogue with partners 'much easier' for Minsk — top Belarusian diplomat

"They have already imposed so many sanctions that it’s hard to imagine what else they could go after," Maxim Ryzhenkov pointed out

MINSK, December 6. /TASS/. Having the Oreshnik missile system on Belarusian soil will strengthen the country’s negotiating position with the West in any future talks, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said.

"Naturally, it will be much easier," he said, answering a corresponding question from the Yunashev Live Telegram channel.

When asked about potential anti-Belarusian sanctions in connection with the Oreshnik, he said, "They have already imposed so many sanctions that it’s hard to imagine what else they could go after."

Russian President Vladimir Putin said after the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus in Minsk earlier in the day that the Russian Oreshnik missile system could be deployed to Belarus in the second half of 2025. This came after Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko revealed that had asked the Russian leader to deploy the Oreshnik in his country.
