International Criminal Court must continue to hold Israel's leaders accountable — Hamas

According to Hamas, the ICC ruling is "an important historical precedent and a redress of injustice against the Palestinian people"

CAIRO, November 21. /TASS/. Hamas called on the International Criminal Court to prosecute more Israeli officials, in a statement after the court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

"Hamas calls on the court in The Hague to expand the scope of investigations and efforts to bring to justice the criminal leaders of the [Israeli] occupation who are guilty of terrorism against the Palestinian people and spreading hunger in the Gaza Strip," the group said in a special statement posted to Telegram.

According to Hamas, the ICC ruling is "an important historical precedent and a redress of injustice against the Palestinian people." The radicals called on all countries to cooperate with the court in The Hague to "expose the crimes" of Israel and to immediately begin doing so to stop [Israel's] "illegal actions" in Gaza.

Earlier on Thursday, the ICC announced it issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant over presumed war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Palestine. The court noted in a statement that the ICC Pre-Trial Chamber unanimously issued two decisions to reject Israeli objections.
