North Korea plans to launch three more reconnaissance satellites in 2024

TOKYO, December 31. /TASS/. North Korea plans to launch three more reconnaissance satellites next year, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

According to the report, the plans were announced by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un at a meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea. He also criticized the trilateral cooperation of the United States, Japan and South Korea, saying it is bringing the Korean Peninsula closer to a dangerous situation.

On November 21, North Korea launched its first reconnaissance satellite, Malligyong-1. The Korean Central News Agency reported that Malligyong-1 would become fully operational around December 1. As part of the its testing, the satellite transmitted images of the White House, the Pentagon and some military sites in the US, South Korea and Japan.
