BEIRUT, December 9. /TASS/. IDF servicemen fell into a trap, set by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, in the city of Gaza, Al Mayadeen reported, citing the Brigades’ statement.

According to the report, an Israeli special forces team, performing a cleanup in the Hai al-Zeitun neighborhood, infiltrated a Palestinian school, rigged with explosives. The militants detonated the explosives, reportedly killing or injuring at least 10 servicemen.

Earlier on Saturday, Hamas claimed that it destroyed a Merkava tank using an armor-piercing munition in the northern part of the city of Khan Yunis. The radicals also reported an armored personnel carrier and four military vehicles destroyed in this area.
