The North Korean leader lauded his own country for developing space reconnaissance which he said was a breakthrough for the Korean People’s Army and its preparedness to respond to "a new situation" in the region

SEOUL, November 22. /TASS/. Now that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has launched its first spy satellite into space, the North Korean military possesses a strong "fist" and a watchful "eye," state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) quoted North Korea’s Kim Jong Un as saying.

"The republic’s military force has now acquired an `eye’ that can look down at ten-thousand ri and a powerful `fist’ that can hit ten-thousand ri," Kim said. He urged efforts to commission more satellites to improve the efficiency of his country’s self-defense capabilities.

The North Korean leader lauded his own country for developing space reconnaissance which he said was a breakthrough for the Korean People’s Army and its preparedness to respond to "a new situation" in the region.

Kim also accused "US imperialists" of turning the territory of what he termed as "South Korean puppets" into a forward base and nuclear arsenal as he referred to the arrival of the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson at the South’s naval bases. According to him, closely monitoring maneuvers by the United States and its "vassal armies" directly serves North Korean security. Washington and its vassals have been destabilizing the situation in the region, he added.

On November 21, Pyongyang successfully launched its Malligyong-1 satellite on a Chollima-1 rocket and put it into orbit. Its two previous attempts in May and August failed.
