Hungarian PM points to serious risks should West commit own troops to Ukraine

According to Viktor Orban, Ukraine will continue combat operations as long as it is supported by the United States

BUDAPEST, March 10. /TASS/. Kiev’s allies in the West are rather close to deploying their own troops to Ukraine, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday.

"There is a strong probability that soldiers from countries allied with Ukraine will also take part in combat operations," Orban said in an interview with the Kossuth radio station. "The world has never before been so close to such a situation where a local war could snowball into a global one. The leaders of the Western world are sick with war fever, they are giving speeches in support of a war, saying that more casualties are needed and that it’s necessary to send more lethal weapons to Ukraine."

According to the Hungarian prime minister, Ukraine will continue combat operations as long as it is supported by the United States. Otherwise, in his words, Kiev would opt for peace talks.

He stressed that only Hungary and Vatican City are the only forces in Europe advocating peace. He called for strengthening the country’s armed forces concurrently continuing efforts toward peaceful settlement of conflicts.
