US administration thinks there are no conditions for Biden-Putin contacts

The Kremlin previously reported that the Russian president does not plan any contacts with his American counterpart yet

WASHINGTON, March 3. /TASS/. The Washington administration thinks that currently there are no conditions for contacts between US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby told a press briefing on Thursday.

When asked about possible contacts between Biden and Putin, he said, "The President already spoke to this several months ago, I think, when President [of Ukraine Vladimir] Zelensky was here. He said if Mr. Putin were to be sincere and dedicated to actually sitting down and talking about peace, the President would consider talking to him. But there’s been no change to that."

Zelensky paid a brief visit to Washington on December 21, 2022 at Biden’s invitation. He met with the US president and the Congress leadership, and spoke to the Congress.

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told TASS on February 21 that Putin did not plan any contacts with his US counterpart.
