Reporters Without Borders condemn Ukrainian forces’ attack on journalists in Donbass

PARIS, June 4. /TASS/. The non-governmental organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemned the attack from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which wounded two Reuters journalists and killed the driver of the car they were in. The organization posted a relevant statement on Twitter on Saturday.

"RSF condemns the attack that slightly wounded two Reuters journalists and killed their driver last night near Severodonetsk, and calls on the Russian and Ukrainian authorities to conduct an independent investigation into the circumstances," the association wrote. The organization did not mention the RT journalist who also came under fire.

On Friday, RT’s Igor Zhdanov wrote on Telegram that two Reuters reporters sustained wounds, and the driver of their car was killed in an attack from Ukrainian forces near Severodonetsk in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Zhdanov said his team was safe, even though the attack had been targeted with the use of a drone. The two cars were with civilian license plates, he added.

The LPR People’s Militia has been on an offensive towards Severdonetsk and Lisichansk, where large chemical plants are located, since early March.
