The Russian prosecutor general’s term is five years

MOSCOW, January 22. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has reappointed Igor Krasnov as Russia’s prosecutor general.

"[I hereby decree] to appoint Igor Viktorovich Krasnov as the prosecutor general of the Russian Federation," the document reads.

The Russian prosecutor general’s term is five years. That said, the same individual may occupy this position repeatedly. There is also no mandatory retirement age for this office. Krasnov became the prosecutor general in January 2020.
