Operational launch of Russian alternative to Wikipedia expected in 2024

It is reported that online encyclopedia will feature personalized content, thematic collections, full and abbreviated audio versions of articles, an updated user's personal account

MOSCOW, January 10. /TASS/. The Ruwiki Encyclopedia, a Russian alternative to Wikipedia, will come out of beta testing on January 15, while the full version of the platform with all technological updates is expected to be fully operational later in 2024, the Ruwiki project’s press service informed TASS via a statement.

"On January 15, the service will exit beta, and in 2024, Ruwiki will complete beta testing and present technological updates," the statement says.

The online encyclopedia will feature personalized content, thematic collections, full and abbreviated audio versions of articles, an updated user's personal account, and videos and podcasts, Izvestia previously reported, citing the Ruwiki project’s press service.

The Ruwiki project, envisioned as an alternative to the Russian-language version of Wikipedia, was launched in June 2023.
