Shvabe participates in Russian helio-geophysical complex project — Rostec

The second stage of the proect will last until 2029-2030

MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. Shvabe, a company of the Russian state corporation Rostec, is taking part in the project on creation of the national helio-geophysical complex, Managing Director of Rostec Yury Koptev told TASS.

"The Lytkarino optical glass plant of Shvabe Holding and the Institute of Solar and Terrestrial Physics of the Siberian Department of the Russian Academy of Sciences are implementing the project on creation of the National Helio-geophysical Complex. The first two instruments have already been created. It comprises a unique radioheliograph - a radio telescope with the cross array structure of more than 500 antenna posts, providing for observation of processes in the Sun with the very high resolution in three spectral bands," Koptev said.

The second stage will last until 2029-2030. Its target is a large telescope. The complex will be able after commissioning of its instruments to forecast changes of helio-geophysical situation, monitor climatic changes and assess the impact on the atmosphere, the senior executive added.
