BELGOROD, September 24. /TASS/. Belgorod State University (BelSU) announced the opening of three new scientific and educational laboratories, which are designed to solve the problems of the world-class Scientific and Educational Center created at the university in the field of medicine, pharmacology and personnel training for the scientific center. The opening of new divisions of the university took place on Thursday, the press service of the university reported.
"The activities of the new laboratory on drug technology will be aimed at training specialists necessary for the implementation of projects of the world-class Belgorod scientific center dubbed Innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex, development of methods for studying the quality of pharmaceutical products, cosmetics and functional food products. Research Institute of Pharmacology of Living Systems at BelSU will become a base for development and release of express tests for the rapid diagnosis of various pathological and physiological conditions in the medical and veterinary fields. The cell culture laboratory is designed to develop technology for the production and cultivation of cell lines for a wide range of research in biochemistry and pharmacology," reads the press service's statement.
It is expected that the laboratory of cell cultures, created in the structure of the National Scientific and Educational Center of Family Medicine of the National Research University (BelSU), will become a platform for conducting fundamental research in oncology, physiology and regenerative medicine. Scientists will also be able to cultivate cell cultures here and teach students of the Medical Institute of the National Research University (BelSU). All three laboratories were equipped with grants financed by the Science national project and university funding.
The opening of the divisions was timed to coincide with the 144th anniversary of the founding of the university, which is celebrated on September 26.
