Russia not on board with all of Trump’s 'Make America Great Again' methods — diplomat

As Maria Zakharova noted, the figures and calculations showed that the country does indeed need saving

MOSCOW, December 25. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump’s "Make America Great Again" pledge aims to save the country, a noble cause, but the methods used to move toward this goal don't always jibe with Russia, Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

"There have been people who believe that America needs to be saved, and those people were and remain inside the United States, willing to talk to anyone if it means saving the country. That is the agenda of the current US president. He even came up with a quite catchy phrase: 'Make America Great Again.' At its core, this is about saving the country," Zakharova said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"The figures and calculations – from the infamous national debt to everyday data and broader trends affecting the US – all showed, and he has said this himself, that the country does indeed need saving. The methods he uses vary. Some of them are understandable and acceptable to us. Others are not," she added.
