MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. The Russian-Arab summit could potentially serve as a good platform for easing tensions in the Middle East and minimizing the consequences of the conflict surrounding Iran, though its holding is not a matter of the near future, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Aggression against Iran has triggered "unprecedented negative consequences," he noted. "We believe holding such a summit will be necessary and beneficial in the future, because, obviously, it is only possible to ease tensions in the region and minimize the negative consequences of this war through negotiations and dialogue. Such a summit could potentially become a good platform for this. However, this isn’t a matter of the near future, for obvious reasons," Peskov said.
Holding such a summit is hardly possible in the near future given the current situation in the Middle East, he noted. "In the near future, holding such a summit is unlikely, of course," Peskov said when asked a respective question.
