DOHA, October 10. /TASS/. Several people were injured in an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said in a statement.

"King Khalid International Airport in Riyad came under attack on Saturday afternoon <...>. Several people were injured in the attack; their exact number is being established," the statement reads.

The aviation authority added that the airport’s operations had been suspended to assess the damage and conduct security checks.

Earlier, Reuters reported, citing eyewitnesses, that a powerful explosion had been heard in the airport area.
