Ukraine to receive $14.4 million in aid from Canada

The money is to be sent to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko says

MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. Ukraine will receive 20 million Canadian dollars ($14.4 million) in financial aid from Ottawa to rebuild its energy sector, Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko reported.

"We appreciate Canada’s consistent support <...> and the recently announced contribution of 20 million Canadian dollars to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Ukraine has been experiencing power supply issues since late 2025 due to severe weather and extensive damage to its energy infrastructure. A state of emergency has been declared in the country’s energy sector. In many regions, daily power outages lasting several hours are still occurring.
