Iran’s actions are measured response, not start of war or aggression — Pezeshkian

The president says that in its modern history, Iran "has never initiated a war"

RABAT, April 1. /TASS/. Iran’s current actions in the Gulf region are a response to an aggression, grounded in its legitimate right to self-defense, not the start of a war, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said in an open letter to the US people.

"What Iran has done - and continues to do - is a measured response grounded in legitimate self-defense, and by no means an initiation of war or aggression," the president pointed out.

He added that Iran is "a country that, at least since the founding of the United States, has never initiated a war."

According to the president, "portraying Iran as a threat is neither consistent with historical reality nor with present-day observable facts."
