MOSCOW, April 2. /TASS/. High-Precision Systems holding company (part of the state tech corporation Rostec) has delivered another batch of the Krasnopol-M2 guided artillery shells to the troops, the state corporation reported.
"The High-Precision Systems holding company of the Rostec State Corporation has delivered another batch of Krasnopol-M2 guided artillery shells to the Russian Ministry of Defense. The production of precision-guided munitions is a priority for the state corporation’s enterprises, which are consistently raising the volume of such products supplied to the troops," the statement reads.
Rostec noted that the Krasnopol-M2, actively used in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, is highly effective and boasts exceptional accuracy even at extreme ranges. Moreover, the Krasnopol-M2 guided munition can be fired from both self-propelled howitzers and towed guns from protected fire positions.
The state corporation added that the system is deployed by standard artillery units and does not impose any additional requirements on the equipment of firing positions and command and observation posts.
High Precision Systems previously told TASS that Russian troops in the special military operation zone have repeatedly destroyed heavily defended targets such as German-made Leopard and US-made Abrams tanks with Krasnopol-M2 munitions. Furthermore, the munition has been used to destroy UAV command posts, fortified deployment sites, artillery, and enemy armored vehicles.
