MOSCOW, April 1. /TASS/. The United States’ plan to settle the conflict in the Gaza Strip hasn’t led to any real action, Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Yury Kokov said in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
"The plan proposed by the United States to resolve the situation in Gaza remains a declaration. No practical steps have been taken to implement it," he said.
Kokov said that when the Palestinian-Israeli conflict flared up again in October 2023, the peoples of these countries, while condemning Hamas’ terrorist actions, called for resolving the conflict diplomatically, without using the military or launching large-scale hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
"But unfortunately, we see that in the West few people remember the law, even their own, when influence and profit are to be had. And the event became a convenient excuse for those who sought to destabilize the situation in the Middle East, who took advantage of the current situation to carry out so-called retaliatory actions, as a result of which entire cities were razed to the ground in the Gaza Strip, tens of thousands of people were killed, and millions were forced to flee their homes. Such actions cannot be justified in any way and have nothing to do with justice," he said.
