Medvedev confident Putin to win March presidential election with poll-topping results

The Security Council deputy chairman recalled that the United Russia congress unanimously supported Vladimir Putin's self-nomination for the presidential election in March 2024

MOSCOW, February 22. /TASS/. Incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin will win the March elections with the poll-topping results, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with Russian media, including TASS.

"I think there is no doubt that Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] will win this election and get the poll-topping results," Medvedev said.

The politician recalled that the United Russia congress unanimously supported Putin's self-nomination for the presidential election in March 2024.

"We are trying in every possible way to promote our candidate, although Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] is doing well in this sense, he has colossal authority in our country," Medvedev said.

Commenting on Putin's electoral program, the official pointed out that the head of state is working on it himself. Moreover, according to Medvedev, Putin’s program can be broader than that of United Russia.

He emphasized that Putin is supported not only by those who vote for the United Russia party, and noted that it will be ready to implement the ideas with which the president goes to the polls. "Some of them, in fact, will be voiced during his address [to the Federal Assembly] later this month," Medvedev suggested.
