MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. Russian troops are assisting about 200 civilians staying in Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), serviceman with the call sign Tatarin from the Southern Battlegroup’s volunteer corps told TASS on Tuesday.

"Perhaps 200 or several hundred people have stayed here. People are afraid of returning now. Everything is calm in Avdeyevka and our unit, Night Wolves, is bringing humanitarian aid and sharing it with civilians. We are bringing drinking water, food and all that we can deliver. We have even organized heating for those who have stayed in their homes so that they can feel safe somewhere," the serviceman said.

Ukrainian forces oppressed local residents and there were instances when they killed civilians disloyal to the Kiev regime. The local residents who have stayed in Avdeyevka are glad to see the arrival of Russian troops, he added.
