Ukrainian troops abandon some frontline positions near Donetsk — DPR

According to Yan Gagin, Ukrainian troops have decreased the use of artillery several-fold and increased drone strikes in order to save shells

DONETSK, January 10. /TASS/. Ukrainian troops have abandoned a number of positions near Novomikhaylovka and Georgiyevka in the Donetsk area, Yan Gagin, advisor to the head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), told TASS.

"Near Novomikhaylovka, the adversary fled from two areas at once, leaving behind only those who were critically wounded and the bodies of their dead colleagues. Several positions were also abandoned near Georgiyevka," Gagin said. He clarified that several units of light arms of various calibers had been found in one of the abandoned Ukrainian strongholds.

According to Gagin, in that area, Ukrainian troops have decreased the use of artillery several-fold and increased drone strikes in order to save shells. On Tuesday, Vadim Astafyev, spokesman for Russia’s Battlegroup South, told TASS that Russian forces had improved their tactical position near Georgiyevka and Bogdanovka in the Donetsk area.
