MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian forces struck three Ukrainian army brigades in the Zaporozhye area over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Tuesday.
"In the Zaporozhye direction, units of the Russian battlegroup inflicted damage on amassed personnel of the Ukrainian army’s 33rd, 65th and 117th mechanized brigades in areas near the settlements of Rabotino and Novoprokopovka in the Zaporozhye Region," the ministry said in a statement.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Zaporozhye direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 75 personnel, two armored combat vehicles and a D-20 howitzer, the ministry specified.

Russian forces destroyed roughly 25 Ukrainian troops and two vehicles in the Kupyansk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the western battlegroup conducted active operations with the support of aircraft, artillery and heavy flamethrower fires and inflicted damage on amassed personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 41st mechanized and 57th motorized infantry brigades near the settlement of Sinkovka in the Kharkov Region. The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to 25 personnel and two motor vehicles," the ministry said.

Russian forces repulsed two Ukrainian army attacks in the Krasny Liman area, killing and wounding roughly 200 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, two attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 12th special operations brigade were repulsed by well-coordinated operations of units from the battlegroup Center in interaction with army aircraft and artillery in areas near the settlements of Kremennaya and Kuzmino in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The enemy’s losses in the Krasny Liman direction over the past 24 hours amounted to "200 personnel killed and wounded and two pickup trucks," the ministry specified.

Russian forces repelled two Ukrainian army attacks in the Donetsk area, killing and wounding roughly 245 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the southern battlegroup supported by artillery and heavy flamethrower systems repelled two attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 28th mechanized brigade near the settlement of Kurdyumovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
In addition, Russian forces inflicted damage on manpower and military hardware of the Ukrainian army’s 22nd mechanized brigade near the settlement of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, it said.
"The Ukrainian army’s losses in that direction amounted to 245 personnel killed and wounded, two infantry fighting vehicles, two pickup trucks and a Msta-B howitzer," the ministry reported.

"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the battlegroup East, capitalizing on the results of artillery fire inflicted damage on manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 72nd mechanized, 79th air assault and 128th territorial defense brigades in areas near the settlements of Shevchenko, Novomikhailovka and Nikolskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy’s losses amounted to 75 personnel, two motor vehicles and a D-20 howitzer," the ministry said.
Russian forces destroy 50 Ukrainian troops in Kherson area over past day
Russian forces destroyed roughly 50 Ukrainian troops and three artillery guns in the Kherson area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kherson direction, units of the Russian battlegroup, air strikes and artillery fire inflicted damage on amassed manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 35th and 36th marine infantry brigades. As many as 50 Ukrainian troops and two motor vehicles were destroyed as a result of damage inflicted by combined firepower," the ministry said.
In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed two Ukrainian Msta-B howitzers and a D-20 howitzer in the Kherson direction over the past 24 hours, the ministry specified.
Russian air defenses down five Ukrainian military drones over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Air defense capabilities shot down five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Berestovoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Sagy in the Kherson Region," the ministry said.
Russian forces pummel Ukrainian troops, equipment in 118 areas over past day
Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units and military hardware in 118 areas over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Operational/tactical and army aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army’s manpower and military hardware in 118 areas," the ministry said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 536 Ukrainian warplanes, 254 helicopters, 9,050 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 surface-to-air missile systems, 13,509 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,185 multiple rocket launchers, 7,144 field artillery guns and mortars and 15,452 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, the ministry reported.
