Russia, Kazakhstan intend to support peace, security — statement

The document said the sides would promote the deepening of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, investment, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres

ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. Russia and Kazakhstan oppose attempts to undermine domestic political stability and intend to support the international architecture of peace, equal and indivisible security, according to the joint statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev adopted at the talks in Astana.

"The parties intend, in accordance with the allied foreign and defense policy, to support the international architecture of peace, equal and indivisible security, as well as each other, and to oppose attempts to undermine domestic political stability," the document published on the Kremlin website said.

The statement also said the sides would promote the deepening of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, investment, scientific and technical, cultural and humanitarian spheres through the parliaments of the two countries and "maintain regular contacts at the highest and highest levels, deepen interdepartmental cooperation to strengthen foreign policy cooperation based on the rule of law in international relations and the sovereign equality of states.".
