Russian forces enveloping Avdeyevka from north, says DPR

Russian forces will soon achieve serious successes in enveloping both Artyomovsk and Avdeyevka, adviser to the acting DPR head Igor Kimakovsky stressed

MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Russian forces are enveloping Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) from the north in the area of the industrial site, Igor Kimakovsky, adviser to the acting DPR head, said on Wednesday.

"In Avdeyevka, there is an interesting enveloping movement from the north and we are enveloping the industrial area," the adviser said in a live broadcast on Russia’s TV Channel One.

Russian forces will soon achieve serious successes in enveloping both Artyomovsk and Avdeyevka, he said.

Acting DPR Head Denis Pushilin said on April 11 that Russian forces continued closing in on Avdeyevka in the DPR and were keeping the Ukrainian army’s supply routes under closer gunfire control.

Avdeyevka with a population of about 30,000 people is located north of Donetsk. The Ukrainian military has turned the town into its stronghold over the period of the conflict in Donbass. From Avdeyevka, Ukrainian troops have been shelling Donetsk, Makeyevka, Yasinovataya and their outskirts.
