Putin appoints Russia’s new envoy to Italy

Alexey Paramonov (born in 1962) has the rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin relieved Sergey Razov of his duties as Russia’s ambassador to Italy and San Marino, replacing him with Alexey Paramonov, according to corresponding decrees published on the official portal of legal information on Tuesday.

"[I hereby decree] to appoint Paramonov Alexey Vladimirovich as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy," the decree said. Another presidential decree on designating Paramonov as Russia’s envoy to San Marino was also published on the website.

"[I hereby decree] to relieve Razov Sergey Sergeyevich of his duties as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Italy and concurrently to the Republic of San Marino," the corresponding document indicated.

Alexey Paramonov (born in 1962) has the rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary. He served as the director of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s First European Department. Previously, he had been Russia’s consul general in Milan.

Sergey Razov (born in 1953) is a Soviet and Russian diplomat and has been the Russian envoy to Italy and San Marino since May 2013.
