Russian diplomat refutes allegations that China is giving military aid to Russia

Andrei Kelin also noted that Russia has a developed military-industrial complex and does not need the supply of weapons from other countries

DUBAI, March 3. /TASS/. Russian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Andrey Kelin has refuted allegations that Beijing extends military support for Moscow or plans to do it.

"China officially says that it is not providing any military support for us. As far as I know, it is not doing that, <…> and there is no evidence that we receive weapons from China," he said in an interview to the Al Jazeera television channel.

According to the Russian diplomat, Russia has a well-developed defense industry and doesn’t need any weapons supplies from other countries. "We have vast capacities and a very strong industry. So, it is an illusion to think that Ukraine can get the upper hand in this conflict," he stressed.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken claimed on February 18 that China was considering supplying weapons and munitions to Russia that would be used in Ukraine. In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said that China’s authorities would not tolerate US threats and pressure over alleged military support for Moscow.
