WASHINGTON, June 11. /TASS/. Russia is open for diplomatic relations with many countries, particularly under numerous present-day challenges, which require consolidated efforts on behalf of the global society, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said.
"Russia is open for diplomatic cooperation based on a mutual respect and equality," Antonov said during a reception at the Russian diplomatic mission in the United States. "Especially now, when the world is faced with so many challenges that require a coordinated response by the entire international community."
Among the mentioned present-day challenges the Russian ambassador named "terrorism, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, climate change… and food security."
"The priorities of our foreign policy are clear - to keep the border secure, and create favorable conditions to ensure internal development," the ambassador said. "Russia has always advocated a system of equal and indivisible security".
