MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Russian air defense forces shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 ground attack plane in the Donetsk People’s Republic and a Mi-8 helicopter near Kharkov, Defense Ministry Spokesman Major-General Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday.
"In the past 24 hours, the Russian air defense systems shot down a Su-25 plane of the Ukrainian Air Force near the community of Sergeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and a Mi-8 helicopter near Kharkov," the spokesman said.
Also, the Russian air defense forces intercepted two Ukrainian rockets of the Smerch multiple launch rocket system over the settlements of Malaya Kamyshevakha and Kamenka in the Kharkov Region, the general said.
In addition, the Russian air defense capabilities shot down seven Ukrainian drones near the communities of Gorlovka, Golmovsky, Yasinovataya and Varvarovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Maliye Prokhody and Novaya Gnilitsa in the Kharkov Region and also Pyatikhatka in the Kherson Region, the general said.
