Moscow will react negatively to attempts to intervene in operation in Ukraine — Kremlin

On Monday, US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that no US forces would be deployed to Ukraine, but other NATO countries may decide that they want to put troops inside of the country

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Moscow will react negatively to attempts from other countries to intervene in Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Monday in comments on a statement from United States Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, who said that no US forces would be deployed to Ukraine, but "other NATO countries may decide that they want to put troops inside of Ukraine".

"Negatively," Peskov said when asked how Moscow would react to such attempts. "President [Vladimir] Putin said it in his address at night to the citizens of Russia and to the whole world," he stressed. "It is enough to read it once again, especially the part when he spoke about the hypothetical possibility that someone from outside would decide to intervene in the course of the special military operation. The president said everything in a clear and understandable way," the spokesman stressed.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin in response to the appeal of the leaders of the republics of Donbass, decided to conduct a special military operation. The Russian leader stressed that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukrainian territories. The goal is the demilitarization and denazification of the country.

In his special televised address on February 24, the president said that he would want to "say something very important for those who may be tempted to interfere in these developments from the outside". "No matter who tries to stand in our way or all the more so create threats for our country and our people, they must know that Russia will respond immediately, and the consequences will be such as you have never seen in your entire history. No matter how the events unfold, we are ready. All the necessary decisions in this regard have been taken. I hope that my words will be heard," Putin warned.
