DUSHANBE, October 20. /TASS/. Heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states will approve an action plan on Tuesday to implement a trade and economic cooperation program aimed at streamlining import and export processes, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
Speaking at an expanded session of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, Mishustin noted that the bloc has every opportunity "not only to expand foreign economic activity but also to launch new, mutually beneficial projects across all sectors."
"Deepening cooperation will be facilitated by the action plan to implement the Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation Program, which we are approving today," the prime minister added.
"Together, we will continue to simplify export and import procedures and increase the share of high value-added goods," Mishustin said. "We will expand collaboration in industry, energy, agriculture, finance, banking, and a number of other areas."
The prime minister also stressed that it is essential to bring the SCO Business Council, the Interbank Consortium, and the Forum of SCO Heads of Regions more closely into the process.
