Eastern Economic Forum becomes key global platform for cooperation with Asia-Pacific

Russia consistently uses the Forum's potential to strengthen trade and economic ties with countries interested in an honest and mutually beneficial partnership, Adviser to Russian President Anton Kobyakov noted

MOSCOW, August 4. /TASS/. The Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) has become a key international platform for developing new approaches to expansion of economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, the press service of Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev reported, citing Adviser to Russian President, Executive Secretary of the EEF Organizing Committee Anton Kobyakov.

"Over the past ten years, the Eastern Economic Forum has confirmed its role as a key international platform for developing new approaches to the expansion of economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region. Amid the formation of a multipolar world architecture, the WEF is becoming an important instrument for promoting mutually beneficial initiatives based on the principles of equality and respect for national interests," Kobyakov said.

Russia consistently uses the Forum's potential to strengthen trade and economic ties with countries interested in an honest and mutually beneficial partnership, he noted. "Joint projects in the areas of energy, transport infrastructure, and high technology, which are implemented with the active participation of Russian and foreign investors, are becoming particularly important. The EEF is considered a strategic platform for the formation of a long-term international agenda that meets the challenges of our time," the official added.

The Forum allows not only to present investment opportunities of the Far East, but also to develop new models of economic interaction, free from protectionism and unilateral restrictions, Kobyakov concluded.

The 10th anniversary Eastern Economic Forum will be held this year from September 3 to 6. This year's main theme is 'The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity'.
