Russian stock indices decline as trading on Moscow Exchange opens

The MOEX index accelerated its decline and was at 3,106.54 points, while the RTS index was at 1,162.17 points

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. The MOEX index declined by 0.91%, to 3,177.82 points, the RTS index also dropped by 0.91%, to 1,166.4 points at the opening of the trading session on the Moscow Exchange as of 10:00 a.m. Moscow time.

By 10:20 a.m. Moscow time, the MOEX index accelerated its decline and was at 3,106.54 points (-1.26%), while the RTS index was at 1,162.17 points (-1.26%). Meanwhile, the yuan exchange rate slowed its growth and amounted to 11.478 rubles (+2.8 kopecks).

The Moscow Exchange index with an additional code (IMOEX2) at the opening of the morning trading session (07:00 a.m. Moscow time) fell by 0.31% and was at 3,136.42 points.

The Moscow Exchange suspended trading in dollars and euros from June 13, 2024 due to the US sanctions imposed on it and the National Clearing Center. To determine the dollar and euro to ruble exchange rates, the Bank of Russia uses bank reports and information from over-the-counter trading.
