BRUSSELS, February 21. /TASS/. Despite all the efforts of the European Commission (EC), up to 13% of total gas consumed in the European Union continue coming from Russia, EC spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen said at a briefing.
"There is still Russian gas imported into the European Union market," Itkonen said. "In fact, we are still importing 13% of our gas from Russia," she noted. Companies are buying such gas at very lucrative low prices, the spokesperson said.
The European Commission will unveil in coming weeks a new plan to reject Russian liquefied natural gas, she added.
