Students from ten regions to participate in project on Russian Navy ships

In the winter and spring of 2025, the students will join electrical engineering teams at the Arktika Northern Production Association in Severodvinsk where the Navy's ships are built and repaired

ARKHANGELSK, February 11. /TASS/. More than 70 students from Russia's ten regions will participate in the winter stage of the nation-wide Arctic Labor Project on the Navy ships, Polina Kirillova representing the Arkhangelsk Region's Student Teams, told TASS, adding the teams have been formed.

"The project will feature more than 70 students from Russia's ten regions: Moscow, Pskov, Astrakhan, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Novgorod, Orenburg, Krasnodar, St. Petersburg and Khanty-Mansi," she said.

In the winter and spring of 2025, the students will join electrical engineering teams at the Arktika Northern Production Association in Severodvinsk where the Navy's ships are built and repaired. The project will start in Severodvinsk on February 17, on the Day of Russian Student Teams. The stage will continue to April 30. "For the work period, the students will be employed with our company, they will learn the profession as they will actively participate in the workflow. The best will receive job offers," the company's Deputy Director General on human resources and administration Vadim Goncharov said.

Severodvinsk is a key center of Russian shipbuilding. In the summer of 2024, 90 students from 10 regions participated in the project. It was the first student team in the history of Russia that worked on Navy ships.

"For students, this is an opportunity to be involved in production processes, to learn modern technologies and standards, as well as requirements and conditions for work in the shipbuilding industry. This experience helps young people to gain practical skills and to choose future occupations," Egor Ivanov of the Russian Student Teams' branch in the Arkhangelsk Region said.

The project's organizers are the Russian Student Teams Organization, its branch in the Arkhangelsk Region, the Arkhangelsk Region and Severodvinsk's Organization of Student Teams Veterans, the Arktika Northern Production Association with the support of the Arkhangelsk Region's Agency for Youth Affairs, and Severodvinsk's city administration.
